B-DASH MAGAZINE set down with Fame Junior.

so we got a chance to hang out with the rapper "Fame Junior" on the 17th-08-15 and discuss his come up in the 'hip-hop' scene & his aspirations, when we call Fame Junior for the interview he cordially portrayed a swaggy down to earth friendly humour  & asked us "will I be interviewed by a lady? Ha-ha ok I’ll be there".

Fame Junior also shares his story through music, we got introduced to him by one of our editors (Nkonzo Eric Khumalo). He's gone from bedroom studio to hustling for recording sessions to making heat singles with who he call "My connect" producer/Singer "Kimosabe". He recently released "God's Work" which received a warm reception from the fans and rap heads in the game.

"God's Work" helped lead to his recording deal with "Pyramid Skeem" founded by Scelo Phewa. 3-months later he was no longer part of the label, we asked about that situation and he responded  "man just forget that sh!t, in this industry you'll meet people who will tell you they'll turn the sky green if you rock with them & that's just the bullsh!t that you gonna deal with as you go".

Who Is Fame Junior? As told to our blogger/writer (Sammy kubheka)

"people tend to be suggestive and give the wrong impression about my rap name, guess it's the "Fame" word. Fame Junior is actual a concatenation of my parent's initials (FA=mom's. ME=dad's) & I kinda threw in the "Junior" since i'm the kid of both & it sounded right.

Sammy : "we heard you on the VOWFM interview telling a presenter not to introduce you as from PTA (Pretoria). where you from & how is your city like?"

"Ha-ha man I hate it when they get it confused & be placing me in all these places. I'm From South Coast (PortShestone) & moved to DBN at some point. PS is basically a bunch of motherfuckers living fast, it a small town & i'mma leave it at that".

Getting Into Music

Fame Junior: "I know it's something that I've always had. Just some sort of love, a strange connection to music. I never really grew up to have friends, so music is what i spent most of my time on. I just fuckin' love making music man, it makes me happy. First CD i heard was "Nas - Illmatic" I heard him rapping and the shit just made me feel something that I never felt before. I was like, 'Wow, I want to do that sh!t & out of nowhere I just started rapping. None of the local dudes who were rapping at that time moved me, I thought I was better (I still do) & just stayed in my own lane and rapped".

Sammy: Early Life - To what’s to expect from Fame Junior?

"I actually went to 4 different elementary schools: South Coast, DBN, and JHB by my grams, back to South Coast & now in Pretoria. I Always been on a go & that's the reason i never had and still don't have any friends. Besides the fact that niggas be fake as fuck, i just prefer being by myself more often than not.

"Music wise and how I move around its hard for me to say what's next. Just don’t expect nothing, I'm grinding hard & just tryina find ma way. I've got a lot of songs on ma catalogue but once I’ve figured the right sound & a better way to get the music out to the people, comatose."

Sammy: before we wrap it up, we got 10 Q&A game to play with you.

1. Celeb crush?

FJ="I just stick to myself man"

8.do you view yourself as a role model?
FJ="i'm very cautious with that, i'm nobody's role model man. I'm moving & tryina find ma way... some niggas wanna be doctors & look up to their pops to follow those steps, it ain't like that for me, I'm doing what i gotta do"

9.a bird told me you don't do interviews?
FJ="I'm not really a fan of talking, but i decided not to do any kinda interviews. Hype was ma last interview EVER... i did this one cause your editor has been ma boy.".

FJ="you can do whatever the fuck you wanna do in this world man. They can hate & try to stop you but nobody will take away what God said it's for you & remember the internet critics/haters/friends do not exist in real life. You got 100 people saying you look cute on your profile picture, when last 100 people ran up to you & told you, you look cute? Ex-fucking-actly".
